Saint Pius X Catholic Church and School in Norfolk, Virginia, are seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to work with the Director of Facilities and Development, as well as the pastor, principal, and all staff. The Technician provides daily upkeep and preventive maintenance on equipment, buildings, and grounds of the parish and school to ensure a safe, attractive, and productive work environment for all, and to extend the life and appearance of these items. Saint Pius X campus includes the parish, school, and rectory (priest’s residence).
This position is regular full-time, 35 hours a week. The Facilities Maintenance Technician maintains regular office hours Monday thru Friday except when parish and/or school business necessitates time away. The position may require the presence of the Technician on evenings and weekends.
The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent with a technical or trade school certificate preferred; two to three years in maintenance upkeep and repair, including plumbing, carpentry, and/or electrical; ability to perform physical requirements; must possess a valid state driver’s license; good organization and problem-solving skills, as well as strong time management skills and ability to work independently; excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; displaying honesty and integrity required, as well as motivation. Successful completion of background screening and child protection program completion required for employment.

About the Parish and School Saint Pius X Catholic Church and School are located in Norfolk, Virginia in the Diocese of Richmond. The parish was led by The Missionary Servants of the Most Holy Trinity from 1955 until 1982, when Diocesan priests assumed the pastoral responsibilities.
